Battle.net & D2R

Installing Battle.net and Diablo 2 Resurrected

Very helpful video about adding Battle.net to Heroic Games Launcher:

Battle.net

In my case, installing Battle.net through Bottles didn’t work.

Installing Bottles from AUR required a lot of additional dependencies that had to be downloaded and built manually.

Installing Bottles via Flatpak and then Battle.net technically worked, but I couldn’t see my game library. After a reboot, Bottles started throwing a bunch of errors.

Wayland + NVIDIA = problems :(

Installing Battle.net through Heroic Games Launcher finally gave the desired result. For installing Heroic Games Launcher itself, [Looks like the result wasn't safe to show. Let's switch things up and try something else!].

Battle.net does not appear in HGL as a Store.

Adding Battle.net to HGL

battle01

  • 2 – any name
  • 3 – filled automatically
  • 4 – filled automatically
  • 5 – Proton → Proton Experimental → (works in my case)
  • 6 – empty at this stage

After filling everything as shown in the screenshot, click (7) RUN INSTALLER FIRST and select the downloaded Battle.net .exe.

The installation is mostly just clicking “Next, Next”. Just uncheck the option to launch the launcher immediately after installation.

Once the installation finishes, in (6) Select Executable, choose the path to the installed .exe (for me the correct folder opened automatically). Replace the path with your own:

/home/mateusz/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/BattleNet/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Battle.net/Battle.net.exe

Then click Finish.

After that, you can launch Battle.net. Log in with your credentials and download the game you want.

D2R

Resolution issue

After launching D2R, the game used a non‑standard resolution. What helped in my case was switching from Fullscreen to Windowed, selecting the desired resolution (for me 1920×1080), and then immediately switching back from Windowed to Fullscreen before saving.
